E-ZEE-CUT GASKET CUTTING MACHINE MAINTENANCE TIPS
CUTTER GRINDING
Cutter consists of TWO parts – Top & Bottom blade
- Re-sharpen Top Cutter Blade, when cutting edge is worn out, by using a silicon carbide / diamond tipped smooth file. Top Cutter Blade is manufactured from High Speed Steel, hence it is important to use a hard file for sharpening.
- Rotate the Top Cutter Blade through Crank Handle and file till cutting edge of blade is sharpened.
- In case of excessive wear and tear, please REPLACE Top Cutter Blade.
CUTTER ALIGNMENT
- The Top Spindle has a cutter alignment arrangement of the Top Cutting Blade to the Bottom Blade.
- A DE Spanner 24 x 26 mm is provided to align the Top Cutting Blade through the Brass Nut at the end of Top Spindle. Loosen First brass nut at end of spindle and slowly tighten the Second brass nut until Top Cutter messes properly in the groove of Bottom Cutter. Once Top Cutter is accurately aligned, re-tighten the brass nuts on spindle..
- TOP CUTTER SHOULD ALWAYS BE ALIGNED TO MESH IN THE GROOVE OF THE BOTTOM CUTTER.
- Proper Alignment of Top Cutting Blade to Bottom Blade will ensure consistent accuracy and proper cutting of Gaskets.
CUTTER REPLACEMENT
- Top Cutter Blade is installed on spindle with a LEFT HAND THREAD
- To remove Top Cutter, insert Cutter Removal Key in the slot and turn CLOCK-WISE to loosen Top Cutter Blade
OILING & GREASING SPINDLES & GEARS
- Oil Top & Bottom Spindles regularly through Oil Points & grease Gears periodically to ensure smooth cutting and long life of the Gasket Cutting Machine.
- Normal Oil & Grease may be used.
